Tips and advice for port creation
Check the postcode
The number one reason for Gamma port rejections is an invalid postcode. If your LCP (Losing Communication Provider) is BT Openreach then there is the opportunity to do a check at the start of the port request – see below:
If the postcode is incorrect then please refer back to your customer to check the details before submitting a port request.
POV
Consider raising a POV request, this is a Gamma Pre Order Validation check that we can submit to check the details on your cLOA. These can take up to 5 days to be processed but often are much quicker than this.
Any POV requests for IPEX LCPs can sometimes take longer than the standard 5 day SLA to be processed.
We are unable to submit POV requests if the LCP is Gamma. All port requests for Gamma Migrations are processed manually by the Pragma team and there is a step to validate the address and numbers before we can submit the port order. If the address is correct according to your customer then please attach the cLOA to your port request. We will then attach this to the Gamma port order and they will use the address from the cLOA to update their records.
Correct Losing Communications Provider
This should be the LCP that your customer has provided on the signed LOA. If the LCP you are looking for is not in the drop down list in the Hub when creating a port then you will need to select Other and manually write in the LCP name in the Losing Provider Name field that appears.
Do not select Other if your LCP is showing in the list of LCP names, if the LCP name on the LOA is BT or Openreach then you should still select BT Openreach from the list.
Non-geographic ports
For a non-geographic number port Gamma will require further details so please attach the LOA to your port request and add the LCP account number in the Account Number with Losing Provider field shown below.
We will also require the average number of mins per month for the number so please add this in brackets after the account number as per the below example.
