How to import HubSpot into HubSpot

This article covers the steps that need to be taken to import HubSpot KB's into HubSpot:

I see you’re looking to duplicate your whole Knowledge Base setup, not just individual articles. HubSpot doesn’t have a one-click “clone entire knowledge base + settings” feature, but you can effectively copy your articles into another knowledge base using the import tools, then reapply the settings/template there.

Best available approach: copy articles into another HubSpot knowledge base

  1. Create or select the destination knowledge base
In your HubSpot account, go to Service > Knowledge Base and either:
    • Use the existing knowledge base you want to copy into, or
    • Use the knowledge base dropdown in the top left and click Add a knowledge base to create a new one (set title, domain, slug, language, logo, etc.).
  2. Open Knowledge Base settings and start an import

  1. Click the settingsicon in the top navigation bar.
  2. In the left sidebar, go to Content > Knowledge Base.
  3. In the Current viewsection, open the dropdown and choose Import knowledge base.
  1. Choose HubSpot as the source and upload your article list
    On the import screen:
  1. In Which knowledge base platform are you currently using, select HubSpot knowledge base.
  2. In the HubSpot knowledge basedropdown, select the knowledge base you want to copy from.
  3. Upload the required CSV file in the CSV file uploadsection (this file defines which articles to copy and how).
  4. Click Copy articlesto import them into your destination knowledge base.
  1. (Optional) Use Smart copy to pull in articles by URL
If your existing KB is live, you can also:
  1. Go back to the import screen and choose Smart copy.
  2. Enter the URL of the existing KB homepage.
  3. Choose whether to Import and publishor Import as a draft, then click Import.
  1. Recreate knowledge base settings and design
After articles are copied, open Service > Knowledge Base > Customize template and:
    • Apply the same template, colors, fonts, header/footer content, and categories as your original KB.
    • In Content > Knowledge Base settings, match domain, slug, access (public/private), language, and related articles settings.

At the moment, these settings and template customizations need to be configured manually in the new knowledge base.
